Head in to Phuket Town this Sunday 29 September for the first ever ‘Phuket Sunday Market Walking Street’ or ‘Lard Yai’. Phuket Town’s historical Thalang Road will be closed off to traffic and split into 4 sections, showcasing local food, handicrafts, souvenirs and performances.
You won’t find any pirated DVD’s or fake Louis Vuitton handbags here – only authentic and local products allowed. The market is also being promoted as eco-friendly, with styrofoam and smoking both banned.
It’s also a great excuse – if you needed one – to take a look around the Old Town, which is a treasure trove of cute cafes, fantastic little restaurants and beautiful shophouses.
