Phuket attractions – The Phuket Aquarum

Whether you are taking Easy Going Thai or learning to become an English teacher in one of our TEFL teacher training courses, weekends are free to explore all that Phuket has to offer. Sometimes the weather doesn’t always cooperate, and after you’ve seen all of the latest Hollywood blockbusters at the SFX Cinema in Jungceylon, why not take a trip to the Phuket Aquarium?

The Phuket Aquarium has over 150 species of fresh and salt water creatures — many of which are local species from the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Information is available in both Thai and English. One of the main attractions is the tunnel — a large tank with a walk through tunnel giving you a remarkable point of view. Be sure to go there during feeding time, around 11am, where you will be surrounded by giant groupers, rays, and sharks racing about in a feeding frenzy.

The Aquarium is located on the southern tip of Cape Panwa and is open from from 8:30am until 4pm, seven days a week.
