PLS was recently contacted by the new Chief of Police in Patong to ask for our help in providing English lessons for some of his officers. After taking up his new post he was a bit disappointed to find that the English language skills of some of his senior officers were quite poor.
Going back to school was no challenge to these guys! They started out with Thai teachers for a refresher and to ensure they had a grasp of the basics before moving on to native speaking English teachers. The group has been great fund to teach for all our staff and we are delighted to have been able to help out.
This is not the first time we’ve taught English to officers from our local police station – we last did it back in 1990! Perhaps we should do it more often …
