Our English courses

Our English language classes in Phuket are with experienced, native-speaking English teachers and qualified Thai teachers for Beginner Thai students. We produce our own study books and materials for Beginners, which we have developed over more than 27 years of teaching English. We use the ‘Headway’ and ‘Streamline’ series for Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate and Advanced Classes.

1 class per day – 5 days per week – 2 to 16 weeks of study

How many levels of study are there?

There are 8 levels of English language study for Beginner Thai students, who can then progress to the English for All groups.

How many students are there in a class?

There are a maximum of 18 places for English Levels 1 to 8.

When are the classes?

English for Thai Learners group classes commence every two weeks, and run from Monday to Friday for two weeks.

Classes are 1 lesson of 50 minutes duration per day.

Class times vary for each level, but all start between 2pm and 6pm.

What study materials are used?

Patong Language School produces its own series of English study books Levels 1 to 8 for Beginner English classes. We have developed these books over more than 27 years of teaching English to Thai students. The course starts with learning the English alphabet, spelling and reading, then moves on to sentence construction, asking questions and replying. Each level increase the learners vocabulary and covers telling the time, counting, describing, prepositions, etc.

How much does it cost?

A two week English language course of 10 lessons costs 1,200 Baht per person, with discounts for purchases of more than one level. As this is a group session, you cannot postpone classes or make up any unattended classes.

Either visit our office, complete the online enrolment form or email us your intended start date. We will let you know if there are places available in the English for Thai Learners course on your chosen start date.

Deposit payment

A deposit of 50% is required to book English classes. Payment can be made on our website using a credit card or Paypal.

English for All

How many levels of study are there?

There are 4 levels of English study: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Advanced.

How many students are there in a class?

There are a maximum of 12 places for English for All group classes.

When are the classes?

You can join an English for All group class on any Monday. There are no fixed start dates, so you can join at your convenience.

English for All classes are 2 lessons of 50 minutes duration per day.

Class times vary for each level. Contact us to find out the available times for your level of study.

What study materials are used?

The New Headway series written by John and Liz Soars and published by Oxford University Press are used for all learning levels of the English For All course.

How much does it cost?

A one week English for All course of 10 lessons costs 2,100 Baht per person. As this is a group session, you cannot postpone classes or make up any unattended classes.

Private English lessons

1 or 2 classes per day – 3 or 5 days per week – unlimited period of study

How many students are there in a class?

Private English tuition is normally one-on-one, but up to four persons can book together to make a small private English class.

When are the classes?

Private English classes can start any day at any time, depending on teacher availability (classes are Monday to Friday only).

Each lesson is 50 minutes in duration. We do not recommend more than 2 lessons per day, unless you are on a tight schedule.

What study materials are used?

We have a selection of English study materials available depending on your level and needs.

How much does it cost?

20 Private English lessons costs 7,900 Baht with a Thai teacher or 9,900 Baht with a native-English speaker, but you may purchase more or less if you wish at 395 Baht or 495 Baht per lesson respectively. At 1 lesson per day, 20 lessons will take 4 weeks to complete, but remember the speed of study is up to you!

Simply complete the online enrolment form or email us your intended start date. We will let you know if there is availability for private English lessons on your chosen date.

Deposit payment

A deposit of 50% is required to book Private English lessons. Payment can be made on our website using a credit card or Paypal. Bank transfer is also possible, but can be expensive.

ED visa

Enrol for the full study period of 3 months and we will process your application for a non-immigrant Thailand ED visa free of charge.
