Wednesday is movie day at the two major movie theaters in Phuket. Standard tickets for all movies are 80 baht at both SF Cinema City in Jungceylon Shopping Center in Patong, and SFX Coliseum in Central Festival in Phuket Town. On those hot or rainy days, you can catch the latest Hollywood blockbusters for less than the price of the popcorn. Both theaters feature a wall to wall screen and have state of the art surround sound audio systems. Aside from the Thai subtitles, you’d be hard pressed to find any differences from theaters back at home.
We hear about all of the latest releases from our students daily at our school in Patong. Students not only get to come to a school two minutes away from the beach, but when it’s raining, they have plenty of indoors options. Thai learners can practice reading skills while following the storyline of their favorite movie and TEFL trainees can escape the heat or rain and take a well-earned break from our advancedTEFL or introTEFL courses.
If you’re a movie buff, Phuket is a great place to be. Especially on Wednesdays for movie day.
